Take part in this fun three-day infotech camp for non-tech and get a first glimpse in cybersecurity, coding and design thinking. Each day is dedicated to a subject and you will spend the whole day learning the fundamentals of each. But that’s not all: to go along with this heavy learning, each day will start with a complementary breakfast and coffee followed by a free lunch. To conclude this whole experience, day 3 will end with a “graduation” ceremony, where you’ll receive your certification and party with your peers over a beer or a coffee.

DAY 1 Cybersecurity

 

Cybersecurity for Non-tech with Christophe Bianco

 

Cybersecurity is the practice of deploying people, policies, processes and technologies to protect organizations, their critical systems and sensitive information from digital attacks. (gartner.com)

Participants will get to know first-hand all that cybersecurity entails in this interactive workshop specifically elaborated for non-techies . Through fun visuals, they will learn about the various kinds of cyber threats they could encounter in their everyday life and they will learn how to protect adequately themselves against them.

 

DAY 2 Coding

 

Introduction to Python for Non-Programmers with Salim Gomri

 

Python is one of the most popular programming languages as of now, commonly used for website development, data analysis and task automation, to name a few. It is also relatively easy to learn and is subsequently very often used by non-programmers for a variety of different tasks.

In this workshop, participants who have never coded before will learn the fundamental concepts of this beginner-friendly programming language and learn how it can be used in their everyday life.

 

DAY 3 Design Thinking

(Participants will be divided into 2 groups and follow these workshops at the same time, then switch after lunch)

 

Scrum in a Nutshell (half day) with Ralf Heiler

 

A co-learning journey with a mix of theory and hands-on exercises in Scrum.
Essence of Scrum: Scrum is a lightweight yet incredibly powerful set of values, principles, and practices. It relies on cross-functional teams to deliver products and services in short cycles, enabling: fast feedback, quicker innovation, continuous improvement, rapid adaptation to change, more delighted customers, accelerated pace from idea to delivery.

Design Thinking Crash Course (half day) with Koen Cloostermans-Huwaert

 

Design Thinking is a human-centered approach on conceptual thinking where you can turn your ideas into real world projects.

The aim of the workshop is to nurture the innovation potential of a diverse group. This is achieved by stimulating visual communication and co-creation behaviour. Design Thinking methods are learned in a hands-on and playful way.

Understand key elements of Design Thinking:

  • empathy to understand problems, human centered design, the strength of visual communication
  • confidence in their creative ability, a method to be co-creative in a playful way and building upon each others’ ideas
  • prototyping in order to fail often in the beginning to be more successful at the end, the value of presenting achievements in public
