What is authentication, and what are its various forms? Why is it important to have a good password? What is a good password? What is a passphrase? What are the various ways of managing your passwords? What is multi-factor authentication? What is the future of authentication?

With a growing abundance of means for ensuring online privacy and security, everyone needs to understand the tools they are using. This course will demystify the concepts involved in authentication and the underlying technologies that enable it. It will equip attendees with practical skills for ensuring their own digital privacy and security for navigating in the digital world.

Familiarity with online accounts and applications.
To have created, at least once, a user account with a log in and a password (for example for an email account, media platform, social media, etc).
Interest in the use of digital applications and tools.
Interest in online privacy and security.

Bring your own device (laptop and/or a mobile phone) to the class for the exercises.
