- Review of some technical basics (hashing, digital signatures, proof of work, proof of stake)
- Misconceptions regarding decentralization and scalability
- Misconceptions regarding energy consumption
- Misconceptions regarding privacy & anonymity
- Misconceptions regarding security (mainly regarding PoW and PoS)
Objective
The course will go over the usual misconceptions one by one via an interactive session where the participants will be able to grasp the main concepts of the technology and re-shape their knowledge based on truths about blockchain. Participants will detect and resolve the common misunderstandings and myths regarding key properties of blockchain, and learn the implications this has on using blockchain in applications. This knowledge may serve participants for identifying new opportunities or risks in the context of blockchain projects.
