Learning Track – Introduction to DevOps – Managing Modifications and Configurations in IT

The first module establishes a strong foundation in DevOps principles, tools, and practices. Participants will explore the evolution and significance of DevOps in modern IT and software development, emphasizing the cultural shift required for successful adoption. Key concepts include Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Monitoring.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with essential DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes, understanding how they integrate within a DevOps pipeline. Best practices for version control, automated testing, and fostering continuous improvement will be covered. Real-world case studies and group discussions will provide practical insights, preparing participants for advanced topics in the next session.

This course dives into the world of containerization with Docker. Participants will gain a deep understanding of Docker's architecture, learn how to create and manage containers, and explore advanced Docker techniques. The first day emphasizes hands-on practice to ensure that participants can confidently use Docker in real-world scenarios. Following that the second day would be a deep dive into Docker, focusing on advanced containerization techniques, Docker Compose for managing multi-container applications, and integrating Docker into development workflows. The session emphasises hands-on experience with more complex Docker scenarios, ensuring participants can effectively use Docker in production environments.

This course introduces participants to GitOps, a modern approach to continuous deployment that leverages Git as the single source of truth. The session focuses on setting up and managing deployment pipelines using GitOps principles, with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and multi-environment management.
